Howe Maxted Is Acquired
Published on the 8th August 2024

We are excited to share with you the news of the sale of the general insurance business of Howe Maxted Group to JMG Group.

We did not take this move lightly as we have been fiercely proud of our independence. However, the UK insurance market has changed dramatically - regulation and fewer insurers being just two factors - and this move allows us to best adapt to these changes.

Becoming part of a larger organisation will provide continuity and take away some of the ‘noise’ of running an insurance broker, enabling us to remain focussed on client care and to grow. It will also give us access to a much larger marketplace so we can continue to obtain the very best terms available for your insurance requirements.

In our search for a suitor, JMG Group was the first, and only, business which gave us confidence that it works to the same ethos as us - people and clients come first.

It is very much business as usual. We will remain in our Sidcup office, John Maxted and Graham Smith will continue as directors, and all the current team will still be here. The only “real” change is the ownership of the business.

Do you need to do anything?

No, this letter is for information only. But, if you do have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak with your usual contact or either of the directors.

If you also utilise the services of our financial services division, your current financial adviser will continue to look after your planning & investment needs and will be in contact separately.
